Production Manager Job in Malta – Gozo

R.A & Sons Manufacturing Ltd is expanding its team and is looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead its manufacturing operations in Gozo, Malta.

This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for production planning, operational performance, product quality, workplace safety, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement.

The Production Manager will report directly to the Directors and play an important role in supporting the company's operational performance and future growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and provide direction to production personnel, promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
2. Plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
3. Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
4. Monitor production performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).
5. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, workflow, and manufacturing processes.
6. Reduce production waste and help optimise manufacturing costs.
7. Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and Warehouse teams.
8. Liaise with suppliers regarding raw material deliveries for the Bricks Department.
9. Ensure manufacturing processes comply with company procedures, quality standards, and Health & Safety legislation.
10. Support the introduction of new equipment, automation projects, and manufacturing technologies.
11. Prepare operational reports and present production performance to senior management.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should be an experienced manufacturing professional with strong leadership and operational management skills.

Candidates should have:

1. A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
2. At least 5 years of experience in a production management role within a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
3. Previous experience in the construction materials or building products industry is a strong advantage.
4. Strong leadership and people-management skills.
5. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
6. Excellent organisational, planning, and decision-making abilities.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. A continuous improvement mindset.
9. Good understanding of quality management systems.
10. Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
11. Excellent communication skills in English.
