This Privacy Policy applies to HotelJobsInMalta.com (the “Website”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a Malta-focused hospitality job board that helps candidates discover hotel, resort and restaurant vacancies and helps employers publish openings.

This policy explains how we process personal data when you browse the Website, create an account, upload a CV, apply for jobs, post vacancies as an employer, subscribe to alerts, or send us a message.

We designed this notice to meet common transparency expectations under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Google’s requirements for clear business identity, honest disclosures and user trust.

3. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you use the Website, we may process:

  • Candidate profile data: phone, location, work experience, education, skills, languages, CV/resume files, availability and application details.
  • Employer data: company name, logo, description, contact person details, phone, address and job posting content.

  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed and referring URLs.

We do not ask candidates to pay to apply for jobs, and we do not sell personal data.

4. Why we use your data (purposes & legal bases)

  • Provide the job board service (account creation, profiles, applications, job posts) — contract / steps prior to contract.
  • Communicate with you about your account, applications or enquiries — contract / legitimate interests / consent where required.
  • Improve security and prevent abuse (fraud, spam, fake listings) — legitimate interests.
  • Analytics and service improvement (aggregated usage insights) — legitimate interests / consent where required for non-essential cookies.
  • Comply with law (responding to lawful requests, keeping necessary records) — legal obligation.
  • Marketing emails (for example job alerts) — only with your consent or soft opt-in where permitted; you can unsubscribe anytime.

5. Who we share data with

We share personal data only when needed to operate the service:

  • Employers: when you apply for a job, relevant application and profile/CV information is shared with that employer so they can consider your application.
  • Service providers: hosting, email delivery, security and analytics providers acting under instructions (processors).
  • Authorities: when required by applicable law or to protect rights, safety and platform integrity.

We do not sell your personal data to third-party advertisers or data brokers.

6. How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, accounting and dispute-resolution needs. Account data is generally kept while your account remains active. Application materials may be retained for a reasonable period so employers and candidates can manage recruitment history, then deleted or anonymised when no longer required.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls, encrypted transport (HTTPS) where supported, and hashed passwords. No online service is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password and keep your login confidential.

HotelJobsInMalta.com is a genuine hospitality job board with identifiable contact details. We do not guarantee employment outcomes, visas or work permits, and we do not charge candidates a fee to apply.

11. Children

The Website is intended for adults seeking or offering employment. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal, technical or business changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Website after updates means you acknowledge the revised policy.
