Maintenance Technician Job in Malta

A growing Maltese hospitality company operating guesthouses and long-let rental apartments across Malta is looking for a hands-on and reliable Maintenance Technician to join its team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for general property maintenance, repairs and preventive maintenance across multiple guesthouses and rental apartments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Carry out general repairs and maintenance across guesthouses and apartments.
2. Perform plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry, painting and tiling.
3. Service and troubleshoot air-conditioning units, water heaters and household appliances.
4. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and the front office.
5. Handle occasional urgent maintenance call-outs.
6. Carry out routine property inspections and preventive maintenance checks.
7. Prepare apartments for incoming guests by completing minor repairs and replacing fittings.
8. Ensure equipment, fixtures and appliances are working properly.
9. Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when specialist work is required.
10. Keep accurate records of maintenance work completed.
11. Maintain stocks of tools, spare parts and maintenance materials.
12. Ensure all work is completed according to health and safety standards.

Requirements

1. Proven experience in general maintenance, ideally in hospitality, real estate or facilities management.
2. Good practical knowledge of plumbing and basic electrical work.
3. General handyman and property maintenance skills.
4. Knowledge of air-conditioning systems is an advantage.
5. Ability to work independently and organise and prioritise tasks.
6. A clean Category B driving licence is considered an asset.
7. Good communication skills in English.
8. Maltese language skills are considered an asset.
9. Flexibility to handle occasional evening or weekend emergency call-outs.
10. Must be eligible to work in Malta.
